Purpose/Mission: The mission of Vacation Bible School at Francis Burns United Methodist Church is to support the church in fulfilling Christ’s call to evangelize and disciple children and their families through the use of theologically sound, fun-filled and historically enlightening study of selected scriptures and past events from Biblical times to the present, including notable events and personalities relevant to Black History and the Civil Rights era.

Description: This one week summer curriculum uses a Thematic approach to study which includes related arts and crafts, music and movement, drama , scriptural memory verses and refreshments to engage all age levels of participants. VBS also provides an opportunity for children and adults to interact with each other in a safe, Christian setting while learning, from a caring, committed staff of teachers, more about God’s spirit and it’s impact on God’s people throughout the ages.
