Ministry Name: Francis Burns UMC Usher Board
Chairperson: Inez Benjamin
Purpose: To extend a warm and genuine welcome to everyone who comes near the door of the church, and to be sure that every person in the church is comfortable, safe, and secure.
Brief description of the ministry:
- We greet Worshippers, making every attempt to help them feel welcome and at ease
- Distribute materials related to the service, and receive certain offerings, delivering them promptly to the treasurer.
- Maintain alertness for any emergency that may arise, relieving the need or contacting the person(s) needed to provide the proper assistance.
- Direct individuals out of the service in an orderly fashion, leaving the auditorium or room ready for the next service or meeting.
The Usher Board serves during the 10:00 a.m. morning worship service, and meets on the 2nd Monday quarterly, from 6:00 p.m. to 7:30 p.m.
